Welcome! This section is a copy of the site I made to keep people informed while I did a gap year in Uganda working for Africa Inland Mission as a volunteer for a year.

I returned mid-August and I am very thankful that I was able to have the wonderful experience of serving the Lord in Africa, none of which would have been possible without the faithful prayer and financial support of many people. Your letters of encouragement we such a blessing to me throughout my time there, and on many occasions I really felt the power of the prayer support you were giving.

For those of you who don't know, I went to Uganda in the summer of 1999 - summer of 2000 to work as someone who supports missionaries. That is, doing things for the missionaries that they couldn't do (too technical) or necessary stuff that they didn't really have the time to do. My 'job' was geared towards giving people time to use their real skills for what they're there for. For anyone who's been, you'll know that it's only too easy to spend all your time on logistics, rather than using your gifts.

This meant I was subject to the will and imagination of various missionaries throughout the country, and so had a crazy and exciting variety of jobs. The Lord, as usual, had planned the whole thing exceptionally well, using the fact I have moved around a lot previously in life and have had extensive experience in adapting to different places, people and work-patterns. But that's just a 'cold-text' way of putting it. I really LOVED my time there, the people (Ugandans and expatriates) we incredible blessings, and as I mentioned before, I just want to say thank you!

If you have anything to say, or want to ask any questions relating to Uganda (or anything else in fact), don't hesitate to contact me using the contact form which you can get to from any page.
