A clergyman was hiking through the aspen slopes of Colorado when he heard a roar and glancing over his shoulder saw an 800 pound grizzly bounding after him. He sprinted as fast as he could but slipped on the shale and landed flat on his face.
As the bear came up to him he prayed with all his might: “Dear God, please make the bear a Christian.”
There was a bright flash in the sky and the bear stopped and looked up.
Then he saw the clergyman lying in front of him and murmured: “For what I am about to receive may The Lord make me truly thankful.”
